2.

Facilitate capacity building, mindset change and local artisan skills development purposely to diversify livelihoods.

3.

Organize individuals into registered savings groups and provide revolving funds to support establishment of micro and small-scale social enterprises owned and managed by locals.

Our Approach

It’s a self-help approach to development where community participation is encouraged and integrated in the planning, designing, implementation and evaluation of programs to ensure they not only address present needs but also empower beneficiaries to sustainably respond to their evolving needs.

Our Focus

In the face of declining fish catch, extreme weather events, population growth, and stringent Gov’t regulations on fishing, Serere District, a predominantly fishing community is under pressure to construct diverse portfolios of activities and social support capabilities for locals to adapt to socio-economic challenges and mitigate emerging effects of climate change.

For resource dependent communities like Pingire where fishing and farming are main activities, the health of the population is of paramount importance if people are to remain productive and sustain a viable livelihood.

We believe to create a healthier and sustainable future for all, affordable and quality education is a pertinent tool for creating awareness and capability, enhancing quality of life, and promoting holistic human development in rural areas and the nation in general.
